Lower Elementary students have been learning about people around the world. Each student chose a book from a specific country. They researched information about that country to add to their story. The entire stories are full of cultural information. The students shared the story they wrote with the rest of their group. The final portion of this project was making a puppet show from their stories.
It was very fun!

Doll collections represent typical traditional foreign dress. They fascinate young children. The dolls stimulate discussions about why clothing differs around the world because of climate and other factors. Middle Elementary students looked through cultural books to find out which country each doll comes from.
Middle Elementary students toured Casa Azafran and learned about all the programs they offer.

Some of the Upper Elementary students did a graph about their ancestors. They used the information from the graph to compare time and to imagine how they travel to this country.

Students use many Spanish words trough the whole presentation.
Another activity Upper Elementary students did was to learn about San Fermin, Pamplona, Spain. During this festival, people sing and dance with this song, “ Uno de enero . . .” The students memorized the song and some students even danced with it.
